Memory Matters

The Memory Matters service helps people suffering from memory loss to remain in their own homes for longer. People accessing the service do not need to have been formally diagnosed to qualify for our help.

Our skilled caseworkers, working closely with carers and family members, carry out a detailed assessment of the person’s needs.

We will then recommend equipment that will help that individual remain safe and secure at home. Our caseworkers will then advise on possible areas of funding and help to access grant support where available.

How Homewise Can Help:

The Memory Matters service can also help to:

  • Apply for Attendance Allowance and Blue Badges, where appropriate.

  • Provide information about sitting in and befriending services and how to assess formal respite.

  • Refer to other agencies for added support that may be needed.

Our Memory Matters Service is available throughout East Lancashire (This service is not available in Blackburn).
